Rotary Youth Exchange Sponsoring Many Programs for High School Students to Study or Visit Abroad

We commit to the safety and protection of every student who desires to become a member of the global community and ambassador for their country. Our global network brings together business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service to build goodwill and peace around the world.
ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE is focusing on the leadership and cultural development of high school students by giving them a chance to visit or study abroad under its exchange programs.

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE is a leading sponsor of foreign student exchange programs organized by hundreds of Rotary Clubs across the world. This sponsoring body operates under Rotary International, having more than 1.2 million members in over 33,000 Rotary Clubs. ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE is managed and coordinated by trained Rotarian volunteers who truly believe that one of the keys to world peace is through understanding people in different cultures globally.

While speaking at an online educational meet, the spokesperson of ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE shared, “We commit to the safety and protection of every student who desires to become a member of the global community and ambassador for their country. Our global network brings together business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service to build goodwill and peace around the world. Dedicated Rotarians coordinate almost 10,000 student exchanges per year and do not discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation or identity, religion, or socioeconomic status.”

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE offers free travel opportunities for high school students who have a spirit of adventure, but who are not ready to spend a whole school year abroad. They can travel abroad under its Short-Term Summer Abroad Exchange Program. This program is open to students ages 15 to 19 years and ranges from several weeks to a few months. It usually takes place in the summer when the school is not in session and does not include an academic program. On the other hand, there is long-term exchange available under its High School Abroad program.

The spokesperson also revealed, “Under Rotary International, we are independently organized in global regions, then by independent multi-district associations, and then by independent Rotary districts within each region. We are in the North American Youth Exchange Network, which is also known as NAYEN. Via our strong network, we deliver long-term and short-term student exchanges, which range from family-to-family exchanges to international youth camps that enable cultural and social exchanges between youth from many different countries.”

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE’s long-term foreign exchange student programs usually last one academic year, during which the sponsored students attend school and live with two or three families in their host country. Eligible students who have just graduated from high school and going on exchange during their gap year are still required to attend high school full time in their assigned foreign country. It is a mandatory part of the cultural immersion. The local host Rotary Club pays a monthly stipend to students and assigns a dedicated counselor to help them get the most out of their exchange.
