Hazmat University, a leading online hazmat and dangerous goods training company, recently published updated notices regarding new PHMSA extensions of their temporary policies regarding surface transportation of various alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and regarding enforcement discretion policy related to recurrent hazardous materials training.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, these adjustments to policies extend through October 31, 2020, after which requirements will revert back to normal.

However, PHMSA also reminded that HMR training is not required to take place in person or through on the job training, with online modalities capable of adequately covering the mandated requirements of 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H.

Throughout the health crisis, Hazmat University has stood prepared and in solidarity with the community, ready and eager to assist with ongoing training requirements in a web-based setting. Their offerings include online multi-modal training courses for the transportation of hazardous materials.
