10yr NFL Veteran Uses his Football Mentality to Tackle New Challenges at ShipYourCarNow

As the inspiration behind the award, Thomas will be taking submissions in person from dealerships, and virtually at the link below. The “LockDown” competition celebrates ShipYourCarNow’s partners and clients’ hardest working employees who embody a football corner’s lockdown mentality (like Thomas for 10yrs in the NFL and now in business). The winner will be awarded a Yeti Cooler and plaque by Thomas on 8/31.
When you meet Thomas Smith Jr. in person one word comes to mind: focused. Starting his tenure in the NFL, Thomas played for the Buffalo Bills (in Super Bowl XXVIII), Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts. He was drafted first round in 1993 and played a total of 110 games as a defensive back and on special teams. Since his successful career in the NFL and several entrepreneurial endeavors, Thomas is experiencing continued fortune as the newest Senior Account Executive for ShipYourCarNow. Thomas’s lessons learned from entrepreneurship and the NFL led him to dive head first into the transportation industry. He has been in and out of the transportation industry over the past 15 years…three years with JB Hunt, five years with his own trucking company, several years with Amazon Delivery and now back in the transport of vehicles. In his own words about the transportation industry, “the most interesting part is by far the people you meet. It’s a fast-paced, critical-thinking, deadline-driven industry that can be fun and challenging.” Both of his diverse backgrounds give him unique advantages to help clients along their transportation journeys. In a field often plagued by terrible service and inconsistency, Thomas is a shining star of client relationship management.Thomas’s new role at ShipYourcarNow is a Senior Account Executive, where he will utilize his lockdown mentality to help our clients with all their auto transportation needs. Thomas’s ability to understand the dynamics of fast moving transportation situations make him good at communicating engagingly and effectively with clients and 3rd parties.
Competitor by nature, Thomas also has a diverse life outside his work. Service and community are obvious pillars in his life, evident from his multiple charities and organizations he participates in.
